About

Hello,

I’m honored that you’ve clicked your way here on your path to well being. I’ve been on this path for about 30 years now, trying to grasp what it means to be fully human, and how to have the best possible experience in the time that we’re here.

I have been dancing for as long as I can remember; it’s how I perceive all human movement, and really all of life: a chaotic and beautiful dance of the elements. The practices that I’ve learned, and later taught, were inspired by my desire to work through some physical limitations that inhibited me from moving as freely as I wanted to, and I continue to gain enormous satisfaction helping others move more freely in their own lives.

My education includes a BA in Theater from Stanford University; an MFA in Dance from Mills College; various Pilates certifications dating back to 1997; The Hendrickson Method of Orthopedic Massage; CranioSacral Therapy at the Upledger Institute; and ongoing courses in Z-Health, a system of training that focuses on nervous system function. I am a certified Biofield Tuning Practitioner and a student of BioGeometry.

It’s hard to find the right words to describe what a tuning session with Alexis is like, because it operates so much in its own experiential realm… it feels like I’m space-traveling, almost, only inside my own body, encountering emotions and sensations both intimate and alien. And yet this revelatory internal journeying leaves me feeling grounded and peaceful, suffused with a sense of well-being. It’s not unlike a really top-notch massage in certain ways, in terms of how it makes me feel, even though the actual physical touch is incredibly delicate. I might not have tried (or even known about) this form of healing had I not already been working with Alexis, who has made my life immeasurably better over the years. She has such a keen knowledge of the body and the body-mind, and such an empathetic, collaborative approach — I trust her entirely, and it’s a great gift to explore this energetic world with and through her.
